asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will give an assurance that the Government will not allow the importation of the American insecticide Kepone for disposal at the Re-Chem Plant in Bonnybridge, Stirlingshire.

My right hon. Friend has informed the company that he will issue a prohibition notice to prevent the disposal of Kepone at its Bonnybridge works unless and until he is fully satisfied that the disposal could go ahead without causing any environmental damage.
