asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science, in view of the Government's recent decision to bring the Armed Forces back into parity with civilian workers by 1980, if she will now undertake to make, within at least the same time, a phased settlement of what Her Majesty's Government recognises as the unique and wholly exceptional pay anomaly of university teachers which has been in existence since 1974.
