asked the Minister of Overseas Development when the payment of the United Kingdom subscription to the capital increase of the International Finance Corporation, which was approved by Parliament on 30th June, will be made.

The United Kingdom is committed to making this payment on 1st August. Parliamentary approval to this new service is being sought in a Supplementary Estimate to the Overseas Aid Vote. Pending that approval the necessary expenditure will be met by a repayable advance from the Contingencies Fund.
