asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he can now make a statement on the outcome of all his Department's work on the project entitled School Concern.

I am pleased to be able to say that my officials had a most worthwhile meeting at Salford last week with representatives of the education and social services departments and of Community Service Volunteers. Subject to agreement on the details, my Department is prepared to give financial help to estab- lish the project. I will write to my hon. Friend as soon as I can make a definite announcement.
