Mr. Penhaligon
asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list for each of the last 10 years the value of grants made to Devon and Cornwall for the improvement of water supply and sewage disposal.
Mr. Marks
Grants awarded in Devon and Cornwall for water and sewerage schemes in each of the ten years up to 31st March are listed below. These figures are the capital values of grants arranged by the years in which the awards were made and combine grants—based on estimated costs—under the Rural Water Supplies and Sewerage Acts for rural schemes and under Becton 7 of the Local Employment Act 1972 and previous enactments to support the development of industry.
