asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he remains satisfied that the results of the report by the Policy Studies Institute on the effects upon employment of legislation are a valid reflection of the situation prevailing amongst firms employing fewer than 200, in view of the other information available to him, including the studies conducted by the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce and the Engineering Employers' Federation.

I am satisfied that the Policy Studies Institute report is valid for the sample of firms which it covered.
