asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will issue a general direction to British Railways to accept payment from customers by National Giro transfer at those stations which bank their receipts with National Giro.

It is for the Railways Board to decide its arrangements for receiving payments from customers, but I shall draw my hon. Friend's Question to the attention of the chairman.
