asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the percentage change in the amount of income tax plus national insurance contribution paid by a man with two children on the average industrial wage, shown both in current and real terms, between July 1945 and same take-home pay and net income in real terms as in 1973–74 in each of the four cases.
