asked the Secretary of State for Transport how much is planned to be spent on trunk road construction and on trunk road maintenance in the West Midlands region for each year up to 1982–83; and what proportions these represent of total trunk road construction and maintenance budgets for England.

These figures are based on the earliest dates by which planned schemes could start and may be subject to variations.Trunk road maintenance figures are as follows for the year 1978–79: £15·7 million, 21 per cent.It is not possible to give figures for future years as maintenance programmes are determined annually on the basis of need.
