asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will consider as a matter of urgency the bringing forward of plans for a purpose-built cardiac unit at Broadgreen hospital, Liverpool.
Mr. Moyle
The Mersey regional health authority, is earring out feasibility studies on the possibility of transferring medical cardiology from Sefton General Hospital and providing both the medical and surgical services at Broadgreen hospital. The authority's view is that this would lead to more efficient working and they intend to give priority to such a development.
