asked the Secretary of State for Transport whether he will make a statement on the misleading circular issued by the Swansea Driver and Vehicle Licensing Centre on disqualification of drivers as criticised by the Southend court and what action he has taken or intends taking to amend this circular in the light of these criticisms.

I think my hon. Friend is referring to a standard letter which is sent as an acknowledgement to drivers applying for licences after disqualification. These applications tend to take
