asked the Secretary of State for Transport what was the number of accidents involving cars, lorries, motor cycles, and pedal cycles, respectively, in each of the last three years; and if he will express such accidents as a percentage of the esimated number of such means of transport in the United Kingdom.

The following information is available:Land and rehousing costs are excluded from these figures and may account for 10 per cent. or more of the overall cost. If motorways were used only by cars these costs would be reduced by about 10 per cent. in rural situations and less when passing through urban areas.
