Mr. William Hamilton
asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the economic prospects for the forthcoming year, in the light of recent independent forecasts.
Mr. Milan
Output in the United Kingdom economy has been growing strongly this year and the main independent forecasts point to some further growth over the remainder of this year and in 1979. Available information does not suggest that the Scottish economy will diverge significantly from the United Kingdom pattern.
