asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how much was spent in the past 12 months on publicity by his Department for the major benefits in (a) the national press, (b) the provincial press, (c) television, (d) radio and (e) elsewhere.

The following amounts have been spent on advertising major benefits during the financial year ending last April and in the current financial year to date.and the South-East Thames regional health authority has the matter under active review.
