asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the subjects on which professional consultants' reports were commissioned by his Department, and the total cost to the Department of such reports, in each of the years 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977 and 1978.

The list of reports commissioned by MOD since 1974 from professional management consultants is as follows. The list excludes work commissioned in connection with individual research and development projects.
