The number of commissioned studies instituted by the Sports Council since 1974 is 84. I am sending the hon. Member a list, together with the individual costs of each project. The evaluation of the funding pro- grammes is the responsibility of the Sports Council's research committee. My responsibility is to ensure co-ordination between the recreational research programme of my Department and those of the various agencies.
