asked the Secretary of State for Transport what plans he has to reduce the levels of motor cycle accidents.

I shall continue to encourage the development of training facilities and to persuade more riders to use them, although I have no regulatory proposals at present. Ways of improving the braking performance and stability of motor cycles are also being explored.

asked the Secretary of State for Transport what representations he has received that there should be compulsory training of motor cyclists.

My right hon. Friend received a limited number of such representations from Members of Parliament, local authorities and other organisations.
