asked the Secretary of State for Industry what was the level of manufacturing investment in the United Kingdom in each year since 1970 expressed in 1970 prices.

Figures of manufacturing investment at 1970 prices were last published on 7 July 1978 in Trade and Industry. Following the rebasing of the national accounts investment is now estimated as 1975 prices and figures for the years 1970 to 1978 are as follows:
