asked the Secretary of State for Scotland why he authorised the City of Edinburgh district council to acquire 38 hectares of green belt land at South Gyle, Edinburgh.

I was satisfied that the acquisition was a proper and acceptable use of the district council's powers under the Community Land Act 1975.
