asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will set out in the Official Report the advice which his Department has issued in the last five years to health authorities concerning cleanliness and hygiene in National Health Service hospitals.

Further advice to health authorities has been given by the Department's professional officers, and the Department has issued training packages and posters prepared in conjunction with the Environmental Health Officers Association and the Hospital Caterers Association.
