Mr. Speaker
I wish to inform the House that on the occasion of the death of Earl Mountbatten during the recess I sent a telegram of condolence to Her Majesty on behalf of the House, to which Her Majesty was graciously pleased to reply. I also received on 31 August a copy of the resolution passed by the Parliament of New Zealand relating to the same matter.
I believe that the House would wish the text of these messages to be entered in the Journals; and I shall see that that is done.
