asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether he will make a statement about plans for the development of fishing by British trawlers in Falkland Island waters.

It would be for the trawling industry itself to make such plans in the light of the economic merits revealed by the White Fish Authority's desk study which my right hon. Friend the Lord Privy Seal will be publishing.
