asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what proportion of the population in Wales and England, respectively, currently receives supplementary benefit payments.

Taking the hon. Member to mean the number of beneficiaries in receipt of supplementary benefit, and other dependants, the November 1978 proportions are 10 per cent. for Wales and 8ยท3 per cent. for England.
