asked the Minister of Transport when and where signs and road markings for cycle facilities were first used by highway or local authorities; and whether he will list the authorities which have put up such signs, specifying in each case the types of sign used and whether or not they are still in use today.

Local highway authorities have been able since 1936 to erect cycle-route signs without reference to the Department. No information is available centrally on the use made of such signs.
