asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what progress is being made on the external building works on the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson hospital.

No external building work is currently being undertaken other than such routine maintenance as may be required. Good progress is being made on a brief for the project team which will undertake the redevelopment of the hospital.
