asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many of his officials were sent to Brussels in 1978 to discuss EEC matters; what was the total man-days involved; and what was the cost to public funds of travel and subsistence, including sums reimbursed by the Commission.

The information asked for relates to the period of office of the previous Administration. Seven officials visited Brussels during the financial year 1978–79 to discuss EEC matters. The number of man-days involved totalled 37 and the cost to public funds on travel and subsistence in the year was £2,877. Reimbursements from the Commission during 1978–79 amounted to £956.
