asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list in the OfficialReport those local authorities that provide subsidised bus travel for the mentally handicapped.

Local authorities in Scotland do not at present have clear powers to grant travel concessions to the mentally handicapped unless they qualify because of physical disability, blindness or age. The hon. Member for Dunbartonshire, West (Mr. Campbell) has introduced a Bill to provide Scottish local authorities with such powers.
