asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many second homes there are in England, Wales and Scotland, respectively.

The available estimates are:

The estimates are based on a sample of households and are therefore subject to large sampling error. The samples in Scotland and Wales are too small to provide reliable estimates for the separate countries.
