asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the present position in respect of the appeal he has received for variations of the conditions to planning permission granted for the spreading of pig slurry at premises in Old Lane, Reedness, near Goole, North Humberside.

At the request of both parties to the appeal the inquiry fixed for 12 February has been cancelled to enable negotiations to take place.
