asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many men and women are in receipt of the mobility allowance; and what are their age groups.

1. These figures include 24,985 disabled people awarded no-age-limit mobility allowance under the Vehicle Scheme Beneficiaries Regulations 1977.

3. Claims from disabled people in the age group 60 to 64 are still being processed.
