asked the Secretary of State for Trade what was the United Kingdom's share of total exports of manufactures by the 12 major Western industrial countries during each of the past six years.

Figures of the United Kingdom's share of the value of exports of manufactures by the main manufacturing countries—MMCs—for years 1974 to 1978 are given in the table below. The limited information so far available for 1979 suggests that we may have broadly maintained our share at the level of 1978.
