asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the first PAYE centre will be sited in St. John's House, Bootle; and if he will make a statement.

[pursuant to his reply, 4 February 1980]: No. Subject to approval for the project, the first Inland Revenue region to be converted to computer-based working for PAYE will be the West Midlands where the PSA has been authorised to begin negotiations to provide accommodation which could house the development centre and the first regional processing centre.
