asked the Secretary of State for Energy what is his estimate, based on the energy model, of the reduction in the demand for each fuel in 1980–81, as a result of (a) the forecast decline of British industry and (b) his new price directives.

Final figures for 1979 are not yet available, but it appears likely that primary energy consumption will have been about 12 million to 15
