asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many civil servants at the Northern Ireland office are on secondment from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office; how many are in each administrative and executive grade; and what percentage they represent of the total number of United Kingdom civil servants at the Northern Ireland Office.

On 1 January 1980, there were eight—one grade 3, two grade 4, two grade 5, two grade 9 and one grade S1—equal to 3·8 per cent. of the total number of United Kingdom civil servants in the Northern Ireland Office.
