asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his policy towards the use of funds raised by parent-teacher associations for the purchase of basic textbooks for school courses.

Parent-teacher associations are free to use their own funds as they wish, but the provision of school textbooks is the responsibility of each education authority.
