asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will arrange to collect information about the amount of income tax repaid under covenant to educational institutions.

No. The cost of doing so would be considerable. The advancement of education is only one of the different categories of charitable purpose and many charities apply their income both to educational and to other charitable purposes.
