asked the Secretary of State for Defence in what ways his Department gives recognition to the Welsh language; and if he will list the statutory forms used by his Department which are either bilingual or have Welsh versions.

Although it is my Department's policy that the Armed Forces should generally conduct their affairs in English, steps are taken to recognise the needs and interests of Welsh speakers where appropriate.
