asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what further reductions are to take place in public expenditure.

I ask the hon. Member to wait for the public expenditure White Paper, which we expect to publish next month, for details of the Government's further reductions in expenditure.

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what proposals he has for developing the distinction between capital and revenue in Government spending programmes.

In taking expenditure decisions, the Government take account of the balance between capital and cur- rent expenditure. But the allocation and presentation of expenditure must be primarily in terms of the services provided.
