asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list the six community homes with the highest occupancy rate and the six with the lowest occupancy rate.

I regret that information on individual community homes is not held centrally and could not be obtained at a reasonable cost.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the average occupancy rate of community homes in England and Wales.

Information on all community homes is not kept centrally. At 31 March 1978 an average of 82·2 per cent. of places in local authority maintained and controlled community homes in England and Wales were occupied.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how much central Government finance has been made available to local authorities for secure units in community homes each year since 1975.

The sum available in each year has been:—

£ million
1975–760·2
1976–771·5
1977–782
1978–792·26
1979–802
Not all of this has been taken up by local authorities.
