asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has received regarding ending the relationship between increases in pensions and the level of earnings.

The TUC and a number of organisations representing the interests of pensioners, including Age Concern and the National Federation of Old Age Pensions Associations, have made their views known on this matter. Views have also been aired by hon. Members during the Second Reading and Committee stage of the Social Security Bill currently before the House.
