asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what was the total amount of money made available from central Government funds in repair grants for outstanding buildings and conservation areas from the Historic Buildings Council in the fiscal year 1978–79.

The grants offered for outstanding buildings and conservation areas on the recommendation of the Historic Buildings Council for Scotland in 1978–79 were £0·86 million and £0·25 million respectively.
