Disabled Persons (Heating Addition)

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what will be the fail safe arrangement for ensuring that severely disabled claimants receive a heating addition to which he referred in his statement of 27 March.

It is intended that a heating addition at the new higher rate of £3·40 a week will be awarded from November 1980 in all cases where the claimant or a dependant is in receipt of attendance allowance, constant attendance allowance or mobility allowance and is not already receiving more than £3·40 a week in respect of his heating costs.
