asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster (1) whether the Dining Room in which the two suppliers and their wives were entertained to dinner on 14 November 1979 was booked by an hon. Member; and, if so, which hon. Member;(2) whether permission of the Catering Sub-Committee, as laid down in the Catering Sub-Committee minutes for 13 July 1971, was sought by the General Manager of the Catering Department for the dinner in a dining room of the House on 14 November 1979.

I have been asked to reply.The General Manager of the Refreshment Department has been authorised to book a dining room since June 1975, provided that the room is not required by an hon. Member.
