asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will give examples of the services provided by other Government Departments referred in his answer Official Report 17 April, columns 697–8, to the hon. Member for Birmingham, Perry Barr.

The broad estimate of £1,000,000 per annum to which the hon. Member refers covers the normal on-costs of departmental operations, such as accommodation and rates, stationery and printing and superannuation.
