asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, in their consideration of the Boyle recommendations on updating hon. Members' pay, whether the Government will consider such an update as part of the 1979–80 or 1980–81 pay round.

The report on Members' salaries of the Review Body on Top Salaries has not yet been received. The Government, in considering the report, will take full account of the views of the House, which has the final decision on this issue.
