asked the Secretary of State for Defence what is the cost to his Department of providing secretariat and executive support services for each non-departmental public body to which he appoints members other than civil servants.

Following decisions announced in the "Report on Non-Departmental Public Bodies" (Cmnd. 7797), the cost of secretariat and executive support services for those bodies sponsored by my right hon. Friend, based on 1979–80 cost data, is given below. Where no figure appears the costs are negligible.
