asked the Secretary of State for Industry what arrangements have been made for the funding of the English Industrial Estates Corporation resulting from the change in its status proposed in the Industry Bill 1980.

Subject to parliamentary approval of the necessary Supplementary Estimate the 1980–81, cash limit on Class IV Vote 2, which includes the grant-in-aid to the English Industrial Estates Corporation, will be increased by £5 million to £40,062,000 to provide additional funds for the small factory units announced in the Chancellor's Budget Statement. Meanwhile, the necessary expenditure will be met by repayable advances from the Contingencies Fund.
