asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what changes are being made to the cash limit on the Vote for the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys in the light of a recent review of the resources required for 1980–81.

Following a recalculation of the financial requirements for the census of population, the cash limit for the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys for 1980–81 will be reduced by £963,000 to £20,685,000.
