asked the Minister of Transport how many people are killed or seriously injured each year as a result of motorists exceeding statutory speed limits.

Obviously, excessive speed can play a part in causing an accident and can make those that occur more serious. But no reliable estimate is possible of the number of deaths and injuries due specifically to exceeding statutory speed limits.
