asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what sum he considers per annum per post to be adequate for the planning of the actions of the National Health Service for the event of nuclear war.

I am satisfied that the sum made available to regional health authorities is sufficient to enable them to appoint a planning officer to undertake the work outlined in letter DA(81)9.
